About Me:
Anjanette Burkett Robinson, LPC-S, NCC, DONA Certified Doula
Anjanette Burkett Robinson, a Birmingham, Alabama native, brings over 21 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). Her extensive work spans across individuals, couples, and families, with a specialized focus on supporting those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, special challenges, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Anjanette is also a DONA International Certified birth doula and trained postpartum doula with BirthWise in Birmingham, a cooperative dedicated to compassionate birth support. She serves on the board of BirthWell Partners: Community Doula Project, where she contributes her expertise to advance community-based maternal care.
As the creator and program manager of the StrongParent Group: A Community Support Group Initiative, Anjanette has made a significant impact by offering expectant and new parents in low-resource communities access to counseling support groups and healthcare providers outside of clinical settings. Her initiative aims to reduce postpartum depression and anxiety, increase breastfeeding rates among people of color, and improve maternal and infant postnatal health outcomes within underserved communities.
Anjanette’s work reflects her deep commitment to addressing health disparities and fostering supportive environments for parents and families, particularly within Black communities. Through her dedication, she continues to enhance the well-being of mothers, infants, and families across Alabama.
