Amie Kay Martin, LMSW, M.Ed., PMH-C
Amie Martin is the Program Manager for Every Step, the Maternal, Infant, Child Wellness Project at VitAL Alabama, which is part of the School of Social Work at the University of Alabama. With 20 years of experience in the field, Amie has dedicated her career to supporting families and children across various domains, including mental health, the juvenile court system, domestic violence prevention, and child welfare, particularly in areas of reunification and extended foster care.
Amie holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Alabama, a master’s in special education from National University in California, and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Kansas State University. Her diverse background includes roles as a therapist at the Child Advocacy Center, a case manager at a residential facility for traumatic brain injury, and a parent educator at a dual diagnosis residential treatment facility.
Her passion lies in working with children and families from pre-conception through the early parenting years, with a strong focus on fostering parent-child bonding, maternal health, and child development. In addition to her professional work, Amie enjoys contributing as a babywearing educator for Babypalooza and spends her free time dancing, traveling, and hiking.
