Nadia Gramby, CPM, LM, Founder & CEO of Crown of Glory Birth Services

Nadia Gramby is a trailblazer in the field of maternal care, holding the distinction of being one of the first Black Certified Professional Midwives (CPM) in Alabama since the 1980s. As the founder and CEO of Crown of Glory Birth Services, Nadia brings extensive expertise as a licensed midwife, doula trainer, childbirth educator, and lactation specialist. Her journey into birth work began in 2017, where she served as a Doula, Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and Doula Business Strategist. Over the years, Nadia has attended hundreds of births, gaining invaluable experience in home birth midwifery.

Nadia’s commitment to maternal health is deeply rooted in her mission to empower Black families. She believes that midwifery care is not only essential for the health of mothers and babies but also a critical step in nurturing future generations who will shape the history of Black communities. Her work is driven by the pressing need to address and combat the maternal health disparities that disproportionately impact Black women and infants.

Through Crown of Glory Birth Services, Nadia and her team offer a comprehensive range of services, including prenatal care, women’s health services, home births, postpartum care, childbirth education, and doula mentorship. Her approach is personalized, compassionate, and culturally congruent, ensuring that each family receives care that respects their unique needs and experiences.

Nadia’s practice is guided by her belief in the power of spirituality, knowledge, and the healing presence of God in maternal care. She is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Black birth workers and is committed to eradicating healthcare inequities, particularly in Alabama and across the southeastern United States. Her work stands as a beacon of hope and a powerful force in the ongoing effort to confront the maternal health crisis facing Black communities today.
